Start your next adventure and step into Conifer Cabin, this cozy 4 bedroom cabin is in the gateway to Yellowstone National Park, where you will be greeted with floor to ceiling windows. This retreat is the quintessential outdoor getaway, central to many adventures found in Idaho and Montana's expansive skies. Perfect for family fun, waterskiing, fishing, showering under the stars in the outdoor shower, or soaking in the hot tub. Located on one acre that isn't as close as most cabins in the area to their neighbors and bordered by Forest Service land on the other. You are truly at the end of the road. You'll have plenty of outdoor space for sprawling out to enjoy the mountain air. Get ready to take in the clear night skies full of brilliant stars from the back-patio hot tub or enjoy family, friends, and smores, around the built-in fire pit. A boat dock ensures a safe place to dock your boat and endless hours of waterskiing, swimming, and fun. Conifer Cabin is fully equipped to be your home-away-from-home. The kitchen is small but has everything you need. Enjoy your meals together around the table or take it to the back patio for an epic barbecue cooked on the Traeger grill. After hiking through Yellowstone, nearby trails, or waterskiing on the smoothest section of Island Park Reservoir, unwind with a movie on the flat screen TV while the kids enjoy the gaming nook upstairs. If it's raining, no problem, we have board games galore or you can light a fire in the lava rock fireplace and listen to the crackling logs, watch the flames while you sip a cup of hot cocoa or enjoy an adult beverage. Idaho is beautiful and we tried to capture that in our décor, using classic rustic details, antiques, and Western flourishes to compliment the views from every window. Bedrooms include comfortable queen beds (for a total of four cozy bedrooms) including the Harry Potter Room which is entered through a swinging bookcase. Sleep more on three queens located in the loft area. The loft area has a low ceiling, so this area is especially suited for kids. There are two full baths on the main floor and one half-bath in the loft, but I highly recommend using the outdoor shower. When is the last time you showered with the sun shining down on your naked body or looking up at the twinkling stars? An experience you will remember for a lifetime. It also comes in handy to rinse the lake water off before jumping in the hot tub to warm up, too. We are located 30 minutes from the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park, but there is much adventure to be had in the Island Park area, too. Use the two kayaks provided for a sunset paddle, hit the ATV trails, float the local rivers, see Mesa Falls, or hike Harriman State Park – all within a short distance. For fishermen, we are close to many great locations including Henry's Lake, Henry's Fork of the Snake, Madison, Quake Lake, and the South Fork of the Snake. Check out the Conifer Cabin Welcome Book for detailed information. Water levels in the reservoir fluctuate based on snowpack and irrigation demands. The best months for boating are typically May, June, and July, but that is not guaranteed. Cabin is not suitable for younger kids without supervision. The loft area and stairs could be an issue with unsupervised younger children as well as the being on the waterfront. Life-jackets for non-swimmers are highly encouraged and the Sherriff requires life-jackets while using kayaks. Conifer Cabin is the ideal home base for exploring the vast beauty of this special place! We hope to see you soon. The speed limit within the subdivision is 10 mph. There is ample parking on the driveway to the cabin. We ask that you leave the area in front of the shed open for caretakers and a turnaround area. We are located at the very end of Snake River Rd. and our 2.5 lots are adjacent to Forest Service land. This provides a greater sense of peace because you are not right on top of your neighbor. Because we are at the end of the road, wildlife sightings are more prevalent, too. There is ample parking on site for vehicles. Although there are 7 queen beds, the three bedrooms on the main floor are more suitable for couples. It is a small space, but the beds and bedding are comfortable after a long day outdoors. The fourth bedroom in the loft (the Harry Potter room) behind the bookcase is standard height, but to get there you have to negotiate the lower ceiling. Therefore, the loft area and the Harry Potter bedroom are more suitable for kids.
